Identification:
Back, upper sides and all fins deep pink to red.
Lower sides and belly white or pink.
Upper caudal lobe greately elongated with increased growth.
Dorsal and anal fin bases without scales.
Typical Location:
Over and around rocky bottom in 90 – 400 meters of depth.
Fishing Methods:
Fishing near the bottom with squid, shrimp or dead fish.
High–speed jigginng.
Fighting Characteristics:
An aggressive strike immediately followed by a quick run for shelter.
