Identification:
Upper body dark blue to black. Lower body gray to silver.
Caudal keel and finlets dark. Big teeth and large eyes.
Body without scales.

Typical Location:
Outside reefs in open ocean.
Near continental shelf drop off and in reef openings.

Fishing Methods:
Trolling Mullet, Mackerel, Scad or small Tuna.
Trolling big minnows.
Trolling lures, konaheads and plastic squid.
High–speed jigginng.

Fighting Characteristics:
A tough deep fighter that always heads for obstructions on the sea bed.
