Identification:
Upper body grey.
Lower body silvery white.
Thick and heavy body with 5 gill slits.
Small eyes and razor–sharp teeth
A powerful tail with long upper lobe.
Typical Location:
Over shallow reefs and structures on the seabed.
Near islands and in bays, along current lines and temperature changes.
Around logs, flotsom and baitfish.
Fishing Methods:
At anchor or drifting with live and dead bait often in combination with chum.
Fighting Characteristics:
A strong shark with a fast first run, followed by dives to the seabed,
circling and rolling on the leader.
