Identification:
Upper body dark–green to olive.
Sides green to blue–grey and light green belly.
Large scales on the entire body.
Horizontal groove in front of the eyes.
Long and very sharp teeth.

Typical Location:
Patrolling along deep channels and reefs.

Fishing Methods:
Baitfishing near or on the bottom with fish, squid, prawn or crab.
Trolling deep swimming minnow lures over shallow reefs.
High–speed jigginng.

Fighting Characteristics:
Aggressive strike followed by a powerful pull
for nearby obstructions on the sea bed.

Fishing Khao Lak's Comment:
Caution should be observed when handling this species,
because of its mouthfull ofvery sharp teeth.
