Identification:
Wide dark brown body with black fins
and a row of ripsaw scales along the lateral line.
Small whiskers at the sides of the very low set mouth.
Typical Location:
Over muddy bottom in streams and lakes.
Fishing Methods:
Bottom fishing with live as well as dead shrimp, small fish,
crab, molluscs, snail or earth worm.
Fighting Characteristics:
Due to its wide body, this muscular fish
can be very difficult to lift of the bottom.
Fishing Khao Lak's Comment:
An interesting fish for the "Specimen Hunter".
In Thailand, this species is only found in Koh Samui.
