Identification:
Very variable in form and colours.
A deep body with a long dorsal fin, a forked tail and large scales.
Relatively small mouth with two fleshy barbels.
Colours vary from olive brown to gold.
Typical Location:
In slow flowing or standing waters with soft bottom.
Fishing Methods:
Bottom fishing with boilies, dough, potatoes, molluscs, maggots or earthworm.
Fighting Characteristics:
Long powerful pulls.

A very wary fish that requires a stealthy approach.
