Identification:
A narrow, plate–shaped dark grey body.
Black on upper body and back.
Small mouth with blunt teeth.
Typical Location:
Near the surface in shallow and calm water.
In shaded areas often under trees and bushes.
Fishing Methods:
Fishing near the surface with small fruits, seeds and nuts.
Fighting Characteristics:
An underwater rocket with constant direction changes.
Will head for shelter among roots and snags.
Fishing Khao Lak's Comment:
Very similar to Pirahna, but not the same species. It has a mouthfull
of large, almost human like teeth. A very fast growing fish
that gives a very good account for its self when hooked.
The biggest member of the Pacu family often underestimated
by many anglers until they actually hook one.
