(Aristichthys nobilis).
Other Common Names:
Tongsan.
Bighead.
Identification:
Dark green to olive back and grey to silvery sides.
White to cream coloured belly.
Yellow to bronze fins and tail and a large head with
small and low set eyes.
Typical Location:
Near the bottom in rivers, lakes and ponds.
Fishing Methods:
Bottom fishing with weed, bread, dough, potatoes, molluscs or earthworm.
Fighting Characteristics:
Long deep pulls.
Fishing Khao Lak's Comment:
An almost prehistoric looking fish.
Quite common in Cheow Lan lake.
