Identification:
Compressed body with a very small mouth.
Light brown to sand coloured body with 6–8 darker vertical bars.
Typical Location:
Around submerged aquatic vegetation in slow flowing or standing waters
of lakes, rivers, streams, canals and reservoirs.
Fishing Methods:
Float or bottom fishing with dough, maggots, earthworm or bread.
Fighting Characteristics:
Short and quick pulls with constant direction changes.
Stronger then it looks.
Fishing Khao Lak's Comment:
Quite common in Cheow Lan lake,
and great fun on light tackle.
