Identification:
A large scaled and deep body with a concave head and large jaws.
Spines on dorsal and anal fins.
Male dark with black fins and tail with a red margin.
Female bronze to silvery coloured body and darker fins and tail.
Typical Location:
In estuaries, streams, canals, lakes and ponds.
Fishing Methods:
Fishing with bread, dough, earthworms or maggots on float.
Fighting Characteristics:
A fast but small fighter with repeating runs and direction changes.

Abundant in many areas of Thailand.
