Blue-eyed Catfish (Hemibagrus wyckii).

Other Common Names:
Pla Kot Dam.

Identification:
Black back, grey sides and a silvery to light grey belly.
Forked and grey to black tail with red edges.
Extremely flat and wide head with long whiskers.

Typical Location:
Over muddy bottom in large rivers and lakes.

Fishing Methods:
Bottom fishing with live as well as dead shrimp or small fish.

Fighting Characteristics:
Sneaky predator that often swallows the bait, and stays on the bottom.

Fishing Khao Lak's Comment:
Often providing a bit of night time fun at Cheow Lan Lake.
